To help each other explore the world of computer science and engineering. To create and share knowledge with each other and the larger ACM community. To make Norwich University a better place to study computers and related technology.
April 28, 2006 in Plumely Armory from 4:00 pm to 4:00 am.
NU-ACM hosts lan parties typically at least once per semester. By doing this we are providing our members
with hands on experience for setting up networks. NU-ACM is able to get hardware loaned from our Information Technology
department giving us access to more than your usual Linksys routers and switches. Also members gain experience in event
planning, and execution, from food to getting the space, students run it all. Oh, and we also like the Games. To our knowledge we host one of, if not the largest lan party in Vermont. with attendance approaching
90 people at our events we offer a gaming experience far beyond your basement Lan Party. With gaming beginning at 3 pm going
until 3 am you can more than get your fill of your favorite games like Counter-Strike:Source, Unreal Tournament, and
Battlefield for the PC. Or if XBOX is your device of choice we have games like HALO, HALO 2, and Madden. These XBOX's are
networked together to give you a game size of up to 16 players, It's like XBOX live, only you can yell at the person
next to you! When you play online can you compete for awesome prizes like gift certificates and merchandise just for
beating your friends in a HALO or Counter-strike Tournament?
At the Lan party there is Pizza from Depot Square, Soda, Chips and cookies to keep you going. There will
be music provided by a DJ creating the Atmosphere all night long. Movies are projected and you can tune in to listen to the audioWhy We Host Them
So Whats the Big Deal?
So why not Just play Online?
